Congregate Meals Site —East Side Nutrition Program provides healthy, balanced meals for seniors through noon luncheons, which are served at the Senior Center. The Nutrition Program offers the opportunity to socialize while meeting nutritional needs of seniors. The meal site is for seniors' age 60 and over. Meals are served Monday through Friday at 11:30. The Senior Center is open from 10am to 2pm. There is no charge for meals, but if you wish to contribute, your donations will help provide additional services in our community. The suggested contribution is $3.00 per meal.
Home Delivered Meals—Mobile Meals are available for homebound seniors who are unable to prepare their own meals. A driver will deliver a hot meal to your home. You may also receive frozen meals for evenings and weekends. The cost is $3.00 per meal, however, you may qualify for subsidized meals. Call the Nutrition Director at 233-8201 for information.
Project SNAP—a collaboration between InterServ and East Side. SNAP works with elderly persons in the midtown area to help them remain in their own homes and to help them access healthcare information. The SNAP Coordinator will listen to your concerns, ask a few questions, and help you get connected to the community services you are qualified to receive. The Coordinator can meet you at the Senior Center or she can come to your home. She has information about healthcare, insurance forms, assistance with housing, food, and much more.
